Gas-powered airsoft guns split their on-board power in an innovative way. While much of the force of the compressed gas they carry is used to fire BBs at astonishing speed, something interesting happens at the same time. Some of that compressed gas is harnessed to literally "blowback" the slide, creating a completely lifelike recoil that will all but literally blow you away.

Many airsoft gas guns boast another revolutionary feature, as well: "hop up." The "hop up" modification allows these guns to put a backspin on every BB they fire. That allows them to fire both straighter and farther than would otherwise be possible.
